Fashion designer and entrepreneur. Founder of AKINGS.
Alan King, born Alan Cheung, is an American fashion designer and entrepreneur based in New York City. He founded the streetwear label AKINGS in 2015 after dropping out of college, having started making clothes for himself out of dissatisfaction with ill-fitting hand-me-downs.
AKINGS is known for its denim and streetwear, drawing on New York City streetwear with a luxury sensibility. The brand has been worn by figures across sports and music, including Kyle Kuzma, Lil Baby, Lil Nas X, Wale, Steve Aoki and Tyga.
In 2021 King was one of ten designers cast on The Hype, the HBO Max streetwear design competition. In November 2022, Forbes named King and AKINGS co-founder Bryan Leon to its 2023 30 Under 30 list in the Art and Style category.
